As you are headed down Baker Ave, toward Peacock Farm Rd, my house is the last traditional looking house on the right before the houses become Bauhaus style, and before the road becomes Peacock Farm Rd and starts to curve. If you are coming up Peacock Farm Rd, my house is the first traditional looking house on the left when the road straightens out.

You are welcome to park in my driveway. If you do, please be careful and put on your flashers when backing out since many crazy people seem to enjoy whipping around the blind corner on Peacock Farm Road. If there's no room, please park in the street around the corner on Butler Ave (see map). I don't recommend parking on Baker Ave because of the crazy people.

By Lexpress

Take the Route 1 Lexpress bus to the intersection of Baker Ave and Butler Ave. That intersection appears suddenly after the bus goes up the very curvy Peacock Farm Road, just when the road straightens out and becomes Baker Ave. The Lexpress bus usually arrives here ten or fifteen minutes after it departs Depot Square. Then walk south on Baker for about 100 feet to 81 Baker.

This means that LHS students can, if they hurry, take the 2:35 Lexpress right after school and make it here around 2:45 with no parental intervention!

By MBTA

You can use Google maps, which is integrated with the MBTA, to plan a route via the MBTA (click the bus icon to get transit directions).

Or use the following information. Make sure you check the times to see when all these buses run; in general the 77 runs the most.

  • Closest: Take the 62 bus to the intersection of Charles St and Massachusetts Ave and walk (.4 mi). You can pick up the 62 at the Alewife stop on the Red Line, and along Massachusetts Ave in Lexington and Arlington Heights west of Park Ave.
  • Second closest: Take the 76 bus to Wilson Farm and walk (.8 mi). You can pick up the 76 at the Alewife stop on the Red Line, along Massachusetts Ave in Lexington between Lexington Center and Wilson Farms, and along Marrett Rd between old Massachusetts Ave and Waltham St.
  • Third closest: Take the 77 bus or 79 bus to the end, the Arlington Heights Busway. Then walk (1 mi). You can pick up the 77 at the Harvard or Porter Red Line stops or anywhere on Massachusetts Ave between Harvard Square and the Arlington Heights Busway. You can pick up the 79 on the Red Line at Alewife Station or along Massachusetts Ave between the Alewife Brook Parkway and the Arlington Heights Busway.
  • Other options: The 78 bus and 84 bus also all get pretty close to my house, but usually entail a nice walk through the woods that's easier done than described. If you try this, pay particular attention to the bus schedules, and get off at the intersection of Appleton St and Homer Rd in Arlington and then walk through Sutherland Woods.
